Faith Based?
What Does "Faith-Based" Mean at Bridges of Hope?
At Bridges of Hope, our faith-based foundation means we recognize the powerful role that spiritual growth can play in recovery, while respecting each resident's personal journey. We create an environment that encourages spiritual exploration without demanding specific religious commitments.
Our Approach:
We welcome men of all faith backgrounds or no faith background
We incorporate optional daily devotionals and spiritual reflection
We provide transportation to local church services
We offer faith-based peer support and mentoring
We encourage exploration of spiritual principles in recovery
We respect individual spiritual journeys and choices
What We Don't Do:
Require conversion to Christianity
Mandate intensive religious practices
Judge or exclude based on religious beliefs
Replace evidence-based treatment with prayer
Pressure residents about religious choices
What We Do Expect:
Respect for the spiritual component of our program
Willingness to attend weekly church services
Open-mindedness toward spiritual discussions
Participation in house devotionals
Respect for others' beliefs and practices
Our faith-based framework operates alongside proven recovery practices, mental health support, and evidence-based treatment. We believe that spiritual growth, when approached with openness and respect, can be a powerful tool in the recovery journey - but it is just one component of our comprehensive approach to healing and transformation.
